    Sporotrichosis is a fungus infection that usually begins as a puncture wound to an arm or leg. It is characterized by a growing nodule at the wound site and the development of cord-like firmness in the draining lymphatics. Nodules may ulcerate. Sporotrichosis is usually not associated with lymphadenopathy. [Chin, p. 459-60]
