    Less than 24 hours after a cat or dog bite (usually from a cat), the patient develops cellulitis. Lymphadenopathy is common, and sepsis is a complication. [Chin, p. 89] Leucocytosis (increased white blood cells) is a common finding. [Wallach, p. 629]
