Hypospadias

Hypospadias denotes ventral surface opening of the urethral groove and urethral canal

Epispadias

Epispadias denotes dorsal surface opening of the urethral groove and urethral canal.

Both hypospadias and epispadias can be associated with constriction of the orifice resulting in obstruction and increased incidence of urinary tract infections. Both hypospadias and epispadias are often associated with sterility in men.

Phimosis

Phimosis denotes constriction or tightening of the skin around the opening of the penis, the prepuce, due to previous infection and scarring.
