Immunoprecipitation

Immunoprecipitation is a molecular biology technique which precipitates a protein out of solution through the use of an antibody that specifically binds to an antigen (particular part of the protein) within that specific protein. Immunoprecipitation can be used to isolate proteins. There are many different forms of immunoprecipitation including protein complex immunoprecipitation, chromatin immunoprecipitation, RNA immunoprecipitation, tagged proteins and individual protein immunoprecipitation.
