TRIPTORELIN LONG-ACTING SUSPENSION - INJECTABLE

USES: Triptorelin is used to treat prostate cancer.
HOW TO USE: Learn all preparation and usage instructions in the product package. If any of the information is unclear, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Withdraw 2 ml of sterile water for injection into a syringe, remove the top of the medication vial, and inject the 2 ml of sterile water into the vial. Shake the vial well to thoroughly mix the medication. After mixing, this medication should appear as a milky white suspension. Before using, check this product for any unusual particles or discoloration. If either is present do not use the liquid. Before injecting each dose, clean the injection site with rubbing alcohol. It is important to change the location of the injection site occasionally to avoid problem areas in the muscle(s). Inject this medication into a muscle (IM) of either buttocks usually once every 12 weeks (84 days); or as directed by your doctor. It may take up to 4 weeks before the full benefit of this drug takes effect. Learn how to store and discard needles and medical supplies safely. Consult your pharmacist.
SIDE EFFECTS: Temporary increase in prostate cancer symptoms (e.g., bone pain, difficulty urinating, blood in the urine), hot flashes, headache, diarrhea, nausea/vomiting, trouble sleeping, or pain at the injection site may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: unusual weakness/fatigue, tingling or numbness of the hands/legs/feet, decreased sexual ability, dizziness, blurred vision, pain (in the chest, joints, muscles, or back), swelling (in the arms, legs, or chest). Tell your doctor immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: severe headache, vision changes, severe drowsiness, unusual or one-sided weakness. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: kidney or liver disease, bladder problems (urinary obstructions), spinal problems (e.g., vertebral lesions), any allergies (especially to other drugs that affect hormones like LHRH). This drug is only recommended for use in men. If used in women, it must not be used during pregnancy. If you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant, inform your doctor immediately. It is not known if this drug passes into breast milk. However, breast-feeding while using this medication is not recommended.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medication you may use. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
NOTES: Do not share this medication with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests (e.g., testosterone levels, PSA levels) may be performed to monitor your progress.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, contact your doctor to establish a new dosing schedule.
STORAGE: Store the unmixed vials at room temperature (77 degrees F and 25 degrees C). Brief storage between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) is permitted. Do not freeze. Once mixed, the medication should be used immediately. Discard any unused portion of the vial.
