TERBINAFINE SOLUTION - TOPICAL

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Lamisil
USES: This medication is an antifungal used on the skin to treat skin infections such as athlete's foot, jock itch or ringworm.
HOW TO USE: This medication is only for use on the skin. Clean and dry the affected area as directed, then apply a small amount of the medication on the skin to cover the area and surrounding skin. Do not cover with a bandage unless instructed to do so by your doctor. Use this medication as prescribed for full treatment time. It is usually applied once or twice a day for one week or apply as directed by your doctor. Do not use large amounts, apply this more often or stop using it without your doctor's approval. Stopping this drug too soon may lead to incomplete treatment and the infection may reoccur. Do not apply to the eyes, mouth or vagina. Notify your doctor if there is no improvement after one week.
SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may cause burning, redness or irritation the first few days as your body adjusts to the medication. If these symptoms continue or if you experience swelling, oozing or blistering, notify your doctor. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of any allergies. Before using this drug, tell your doctor if you are pregnant. The oral form of this drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. If nursing, do not apply this drug to breast.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all over-the-counter and prescription medication you may use including: skin products, antibiotics. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
NOTES: Do not share this medication with others.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 41 and 77 degrees F (5 to 25 degrees C) away from heat. Do not refrigerate.
