PROPIONATE/AMINO ACID/UREA - VAGINAL (pro-PIE-oh-nate/am-EE-no acid/you-REE-uh) COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Amino-Cerv USES: This medication is used in the treatment of certain vaginal conditions. HOW TO USE: This medication is for vaginal use only. Fill the applicator provided with the medication. Insert the applicator into the vagina as directed, usually once in the evening for 2 to 4 weeks. After use, clean the applicator with warm soapy water and rinse well. A detailed instruction sheet should be provided with the medication. Review the instructions and ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions. SIDE EFFECTS: This medication is usually well tolerated. If you experience vaginal burning or itching, contact your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: vaginal yeast infection. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor if you have: other illnesses, allergies (especially drug allergies). This medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if this medication appears in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding. DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take. Avoid the use of any vaginal douches while taking this medication unless your doctor tells you otherwise. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed. NOTES: This medication is not a contraceptive agent. MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up. STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) away from heat and light.
