ERYTHRITYL TETRANITRATE - ORAL, SUBLINGUAL (eh-RITH-rih-till teh-truh-NYE-trate) USES: This medication relaxes blood vessels, which improves blood flow to the heart. Erythrityl tetranitrate is used to prevent chest pain (angina). It is NOT for treating an angina attack that is already happening. HOW TO USE: This tablet can be placed under the tongue or swallowed. If you are placing the tablet under the tongue, allow it to dissolve completely for faster results. The drug is absorbed directly through the lining of the mouth. Take exactly as prescribed. To be effective in preventing chest pain, you must continue taking this drug even if you feel well. Do not stop taking this drug suddenly without consulting your doctor. Some conditions may become worse when the drug is suddenly stopped. Your dose may need to be gradually decreased. Notify your doctor if the medication does not appear to be as effective.
